    2006 FICHT evinrude 250 HP

I'm not sure why anyone personally would buy a ficht outboard. Now if you have one and you hope to fix some small to medium issue and extend its life so be it but.....really? Buy a carbureted older one and find a good one. Dime o dozen.

Crank case leaking on 1990 evinrude 88 spl

If you end up needing to open up everything then the only answer is to do a complete rebuild. Why would you not when your already there. Now if your time is worth nothing and you don't mind having a dead motor on the lake/river/ocean then....... Otherwise I'd do what race says first, post...

what is it with spark plug $$$$

Plug wires for a Porsche in the late 80's were close to $400 buckaroonies!

what is it with spark plug $$$$

To maintain my original 5 year warranty I went ahead and replaced them at 300 hrs and just used the benchmark the whole time I used it. Certainly was not needed.

what is it with spark plug $$$$

I buy QL77JC4 in bulk and save a little dough but not much. The latest place I purchased from had just picked up 14,000 from Wall Mart. Apparently Wall Mart doesn't want to be in the outboard part business!😆

    2-GT 200 Johnsons

Omc/Evinrude made design changes between 1991 and 1992 at least in the small motors...not sure with your HP motor. Best thing to do is look up the parts diagram with part numbers and check to see if each motor matches. If your lucky you can change the drive shaft and shift rod.....a little...

1996 Evinrude Vindicator 200hp--engine keeps quitting on start-up

One thing I do is pull the plugs, run the starter and blow everything out (gas, oil, whatever), inspect the plugs and if they look ok I spray them out, run a stainless brush over them, re-gap them and burn them out slightly with a plumbers torch rolling them the hole time. Most of the time I...

1996 Evinrude Vindicator 200hp--engine keeps quitting on start-up

Just an example of my ability to get a used motor. It's about 1 mile from my house. Even if it's dead the parts alone are worth grabbing it. (Port side temp sensor)! Great northwest has lots of used motors so might be somewhat unfair.

    Evinrude 1994 150

If your running mixed gas you shouldn't have any undiluted oil in there. Post pictures of every side of the engine focusing on the vro pump. Is the oil bottle still in the boat?

    Evinrude 1994 150

Did you read and answer all of Racerone's responses. Oil related. Don't run the motor. Might want to do a compression test now. His most serious question, are you putting in 50/1 gas in your tank or relying on your oil pump? This is an oil related issue, hence the oil alarm. Simple to fix...

1996 Evinrude Vindicator 200hp--engine keeps quitting on start-up

From what I remember, the red valve is to be used when hand pulling a motor with a low battery. In my old 90 if it was cold....it didn't really work but if even slight warm I could get it running. Those were the days when my young strong arm could complete the task. Not sure about today or if I...

    Unsure of year model

Remove cowling. (Outboard cover), take picture of engine. Or follow where it pees out...the rubber hose where it goes into the engine (block). I'm wondering, do you not speak English? Something weird here. Good luck with your motor.
