    good morning :)

Gee, I think it depends on the kind of boat. A 16 footer with an OB has little maintenance. A 30 footer with twin mercruisers, a head, a/c, sink, hot water etc, has much more maintenance.

    Would you?

The JEEP is 4WD? The ramp is paved? If yes, traction should be fine, and towing should be fine. Is the hitch rated for the weight of the boat+trailer?

    1997 200 Efi speed problem

Gee, what pitch prop? Does she trim up, or plow water when trimmed?

    2003 Johnson 90hp (J90GLSTA)

Air leaks into the gasoline side of the fuel system (at the main strainer, water separator, fittings, etc) cause the OMS pump to overpump oil causing heavy smoking. You might check that prior to buying a new pump. Thermostats do not last forever and can get debris in them. Obviously...

    Outboard Ignition Switch Wiring

Some will argue, but the best electrical connection is a soldered one. That was how my '77 Merc ign switch was wired, and it lasted until I retired the control in 2021, but was still good at that time. I used/kept the boat in salt water, so I consider it to be a severe test of the solder...

    rpm gauge

So you did weeks of research, when you could have looked under the cowling? Crowleymarine will show a picture of your stator, rectifier/voltage regulator, and maybe you can see the tachometer plug as well. Why not remove the cowling, and then search the Crowley or other parts sites for info...

    rpm gauge

Gee, why not look for yourself. Tachometers usually run off the stator pulses for the charging system, so find some (likely yellow) wires coming from the stator under the flywheel, and see if they go to a rectifier/voltage regulator, and a plug for the tachometer. Isn't it better for you to...

    1984 Bayliner Ski with 94 Merc Black Max 150HP 2.5 V6 Outboard

OK Jim, Both brands are made by Brunswick. So you are an attorney for Brunswick and are asked the same question. So explain to the plaintive, why it is OK for the Bayliner Hull to fail and injure someone, when the SeaRay Hull doesn't fail under the same circumstances. Is your argument that...

    1984 Bayliner Ski with 94 Merc Black Max 150HP 2.5 V6 Outboard

Gee, Bayliner is made by SeaRay. IMO, with all the liability issues, I would expect the hull quality to be pretty close between the two. Let's say that you the lawyer for SeaRay/Bayliner and are a defendant in a court of law due to hull failure of a Bayliner. The plaintiff asks "So you...

You should repost this in the yamaha motor forum. Does crowleymarine show an accessory tachometer for it?

    1997 Johnson Mod: J90TSLEUA

Gee, the OMC 90* 90HPV4 engine was made for a lot of years. I think the first one I saw was in the late 60's (crossflow version). They lasted until about 2000 (loop charged version), when replaced by the 60* V4 engine series. They were one of the best and most popular engines ever made, IMO...

Water keeps filling boat cover, please help!

Gee, on my 21 footer, I put a 2X4 from outboard motor hood to windshield, and then to bow. I use light (1/8") rope going side to side over the 2X4, and connecting to cleats, handles, and anything else solidly attached to the hull to make a tent. Then toss a cover over it and see if that gets...

    1986 Mercury 150 V6 worth?

Gee, I bought a '93 Merc 135HPV6 in 2008 or so, for $1K. It was complete, and ran fantastic. I still have it and it still runs fantastic. $2500 for a 1986 of unknown condition, seems a pipe dream, at least to me.

    1986 Mercury 150 V6 worth?

Fresh water use is much better for their value than salt..... Not many here at the Jersey shore would buy a motor that old used locally.

    L/U Casing # 1647 6670 vs 1647 6670C

Gears, bearings and the like are fairly expensive, and take special tools and knowledge to install. Have you priced a replacement gearcase from SEI? It could be close in cost to the parts you need.

    Merc 30hp 4stroke

Use jumper cables on the starter? That will spin the motor, and you can check compression. If you want to test for spark, that is another matter.

    Replacing Keel rollers

Gee, I thought it a count, wire brush and paint as the first step. Now as the final step, order the right parts, receive and install the new hardware. The OP made it more complicated than I thought it should be. JMO

    Replacing Keel rollers

Gee, Amazon seemed to have some 3" ubolts. None of these worked? https://www.amazon.com/s?k=3%22+galvanized+ubolts&crid=1067AZ14W3TPD&sprefix=3+galvanized+ubolts%2Caps%2C76&ref=nb_sb_noss_2 or here: https://www.mcmaster.com/products/square-u-bolts/finish~galvanized/

    Replacing Keel rollers

Well, I a real surprised you are having trouble getting galv u-bolts at that place. They are pretty generic, in my mind. I would expect you could order them on the web. Maybe not as cheap as Amazon, but they should be available from a fastener place. I always bought replacement parts...

    Needing higher rpm

I am real surprised that an IL6 can spin a 23P on a 'toon. I had the 1500 version of the IL6 and she had a real hard time spinning a 23P prop on my 16 foot speedboat.
