    Re: force 50hp slipping gear Dropped the gearbox???You look inside the gearcase? Inside is a part called a clutchdog. The edges of the mating surface should be square not rounded off.See pics.The dog in the pic is a good one. Don't have a pic of one that's rounded off.

    Flywheel removal

    Ever have trouble rmoving a flywheel?? Usually I can get them off without too much trouble. This one was a bit differeent!!!! I used heat,broke 2 pullers.One brandnew!! Eventually had to cut!! It seems to be welded/siezed to the end of the crank. The nut was very dificult to remove. .

    Re: 98 force 120 - random starting issue Don't just throw money at it!!! The starter's easy to check. Look for dirt and corrosion.See pics. The one is a brush holder for reassembly. Try taking the plugs out and turning it over. If it turns easily then you should really do a compression test.

    Re: 50 hp force no spark... The puller PNW showed you might do it? Most times the 1/4-20 bolts strip and need to be tapped out to 5/16. I use a 3 jaw puller.Just be carefull it can hurt a finger if you don't wear gloves?? Safety glasses too.
