    The leg is off

Thx for the info, at least it's an acceptable alternative to pulling the motor, I remember several years ago the owner of this boat cracked the gimbal ring so that could explain the back door fix, It seems to steer ok. I guess I can't blame him, that is pretty much the reason I swapped it to an...

    The leg is off

Has an SEI 116 that is new, a gimbal bearing that is toast and a back door to the steering. As Rick said in a previous post the shift cable is bound up pretty good and I was getting water from the o-ring crossing over I believe. Boat handled just like any other deep v at 5 mph. I'll loose sleep...

    The leg is off

I'm getting your drift. Easy access to the steering arm. I haven't had this boat over 10 miles an hour, in fact yesterday was the first time I had it out on the water and went half a mile to the lunch ramp. I probably should pull that plate off and see what's in there.

    The leg is off

After the fourth crowd headed out I was able to get the boat out at leisure yesterday. Fuel pump replacement preformed. Pulled leg and discovered what seems to be a metal plate glued at the top of the transom housing. I'm baffled, why?

Electric fuel pump upgrade, which fuel filter/filter system?

I just did that to mine, I don't know how to refer to the thread but I had a couple of pics of my install. I used the existing separator but moved it to a bulkhead and used the mounting for the pump. thread title was "fuel pump frustrations"

    Wire rope replacement

I planned on passing it along after I tried it, so take this info at your own risk until I give it a go but it seems so simple it should work well on smaller rope. simply take 2 2x4 blocks about 6 inch long and cut a shallow groove about half the diameter of the rope across one of the blocks and...

    Wire rope replacement

I don't know who built the dock pretty much a typical over head 4 point lift but I guess I could ask the wire company when I buy it. Thx

    Wire rope replacement

I have some fraying and want to replace the 5/16 cable on my lift. I have done this once before but had a few folks to help keep tension on the cables when winding them on the drive pipe. This time I will need to do it by myself and was wondering if any of you folks have a tip for doing it.

    interrupt switch disconnected

I gave it a try today and found out why the switch was disconnected but didn't tear any cleats loose with it tied up to the dock. I think the lower cable is binding or something is. with the switch connected I could get it into forward but it would die shifting back to neutral. It would not...
