    Aren't my ignition coils defective?

My thoughts ,if you were getting water into a cylinder you would see signs of it on the spark plugs.

    40 hp 2 stroke open/close switch?

run it in the normal mode. open is to help get the motor runing if you cannot get it to start when in normal due to plugged up automatic system once started in open you should turn it to closed or it will run too rich

    40 hp 2 stroke clicking/popping noise

possibly a lean sneeze probably because you had the red lever in the closed position and the automatic enrichment system could not add extra fuel when motor is cold. or you have other carb problems

    Aren't my ignition coils defective?

fuel pumps and fuel lines, and then carb cleaning. I would go for it. you know BOAT stands for Break Out Another Thousand

Loud metal knocking sound on yamaha F250

if you have a warranty, why are you asking here? you are the only one that can inspect or have it tested , we sure cannot

    Aren't my ignition coils defective?

depends on what is causing the cylinder to drop. a flooding carb and a leaking fuel pump dumping fuel into the crankcase that provides the pulse to operate the pump , will cause over rich fuel problems to some cylinders Idle jets and passages, off idle ports, and main jets can affect the motor...

    Aren't my ignition coils defective?

get the DVA or other meter to get the peak voltage reading to make sure everything is doing what it should on the electrical. test what you can and if no problems found with that then chase the fuel

    Aren't my ignition coils defective?

checking at idle will not ensure there are no problems at higher RPM and under load

2001 Yamaha 50hp tlrz 2 stroke with prime start system starts and dies

does it continue to run if put in the open position like you 1st told us back in 2021? also verify what the timing is doing with a timing light. timing does change up as the motor starts, idles, and then warms up. plus the light will show if the spark drops, but may be hard to tell if spark...

    Aren't my ignition coils defective?

I have no idea if your motor has low and high-speed charge coils sending voltages to the CDI, but taking those peak voltages should tell you if there is a problem if you do have separate low and high-speed charge coils. with both motors doing it it is hard to believe both had the same type of...

    Aren't my ignition coils defective?

I would get some Peak voltage readings for all the inputs and outputs of the CDIs to make sure they read at least the minimum listed in your service manual. you mentioned that you made sure all pugs on Port motor had spark using a spark tester. to me that means they were sparking. what about...

pull the cowling off and see where the water is coming from

    Yamaha 130 fuel connector

running a multi cylinder, multi carb motor dry cannot work very well. yes the motor will die, but there will be fuel left in the bowls, some will have more than the others. As it evaporates it will leave residue. and the Cylinders that run low 1st will lack lube as the others keep the motor...

2000 Yamaha F100 four stroke oil alarm goes off at first and then goes away

from what I have read, the alarm is an out of normal range of pressure for the RPM at that time. could be too low or too high. I would tee in a gauge to see what the pressure is doing when it alarms and when it goes away
