    no offense... did you test resistance from AC (yellows) to the red wire output only continuity (low resistance) should exist one way only either yellows to red no continuity from RED to yellows.

    probably oxydized crimps or connections . voltage drops at the highest resistance point (Ohms's law) so work back from the starter + post (assuming the starter works has uggested) with your volt meter measure backwards from starter + post solenoid out 12v + post to the starter...

    3 wire rectifiers are simply diodes wired up to convert the 2 inputs (AC phases) to a single DC output.... without regulating to ouput. parts listing shows a simple round full phase rectifier . IF overly expensive they are available on Amazon dirt cheap with lots of amp capacity...

    fuel normaly goes directly into the injectors under pressure via the vapor separator high presssure pump check your top vent of the VST ... no fuel should exit the VST to vent hose. if it does the float is defective . do yo u have the service manual book . see similar VST service video...

    have you considered just raising the transom 2 inches if feasable for you. I did that several years ago for a Classic 50 mounted on an 18 inch transom. Worked out great.

    look for another deal... Me...I would keep away from any humpty dumpty stuff but opinions differ. Price may justify the purchase for the boat and trailer alone. Engine wise well it is coin flip.... the engine is 32 years old and lots of shops won't touch it if it ever needs repair...
