    seems like low insulation ...aside from changing parts and checking your installation you could try some of the special silicone used to repair old style flyback transformers in tube tv's (although most are gone to join DODO birds) Electronic shops should have the stuff...or amazon

    lots of variables here... current draw needs of the starter how good does the engine start does it start good with the spare pull cord in case that smaller battery goes RIP to big is better than to small .... bring a set of oars :) and PFD ... a 35hp on a 12 footer and you :-(...

    mdl # year manuf ? hitting the choke fed it some extra fuel so it looks like fuel starvation venting OK on te thank .... no air leaks tank to carb ? looks like old style carbs... how good did you clean the HS jet behind that lower bolt on the carbs

    rectifier could have fried...engine may run but won't charge anymore. it is not a regulator so a $10 3 phase full wave rectifier should do the job...

    True... !!! good eye the serial starts with F .... yet same basic technology concept similar fault codes and all. ETEC board will not be answering questions on FICHT but the search utility may be usefull to some extent . the same EV diag works on both ETECs and FICHT...

    switch designs can vary so you need to physically establish the switching desing pattern and connect proper wires to each screw post. sorry can't do much more at this end.

    one wire is CHOKE so touch 12v on it to hear the choke pull up One wire is Start/selenoid so touch 12v on it to hear the starter going accessories connect to the A post FROM A with a ohm meter find the B+ post which is the ONLY one connected to A with the key at the ON position see...
