    Check voltage at coil for 12V with key ON and motor OFF. If power is not present then trace the purple wire back to the key For a quick test, run a jumper from the purple wire on the key to the coil, it should start and run

    Thanks for the input, does seem like what I was thinking, starting with a basic kit and add other stuff as needed is an easy way to start. My current kit is getting so old I should probably toss most of it because of age and just keep the stuff which doesn't have age issues

    Unless someone changed the wiring (doubtful) it has only the one purple wire powering the ignition.

    Forget who posted it, but a member used kitchen/dinning chair covers on their boat seats and it looked great. Cost was around $8 each

    Something is just not right about the motors wiring Disconnecting the "in-gear" switch (previous thread) kills the motor which should not happen. BTW, the OP can reopen the previous thread

    Your correct wire to pin 85 comes from the ECM. The ECM applies a ground on this pin to energize relay and turn pumps ON Pin 85 should have 12V on it coming from the other side of the coil pin 86 and thru the coil.
