What colour is the float bowl gasket on the 30 Evinrude ?----Black or brown?----If brown , it will stand up to modern fuel.----Just run carburetors dry when motor is not in use.

Try the plugs in different holes.----The procedure is called indexing.----Use a torque wrench and do not exceed 17 FT LBS.----4 sparkplugs and 4 different holes , you should be able to come close.

Pop the wire link out off the SLOW SPEED mixture needle ( white nylon piece ) set it 1-1/2 turns out.----Start motor and adjust on the boat in the water.----Slide white nylon piece off the needle.----Slide it back on pointing to the right and horizontal.----Re-attach link to the knob.
