I would not replace a CDI box by guessing.----They last a long time !!----Model # of your motor is ?-----Do you have a multimeter ?----Easy to check stator / kill circuit / sensor coils.

That is really a "heat shield " and can be made from a cereal box.------Have never seen the little square pump on a 33 HP.-----These PRESSURE operated fuel pumps are very reliable and rarely fail.----New diaphragm will do the trick.

Was the original starter inspected before beer tokens were spent on a new one ???-----He stated " brand new starter " in post #1.-----" BRAND NEW " would indicate a factory replacement and not a cheap one from an online merchandizer !!
