    Model # of the motor is needed.----Are you sure that you can turn these clutch dogs around ??----I thought they were clearly marked with ----" prop end " ----stamped on them.

    There is no adjustment at the connector.-----I think you need to adjust at the top shift lever.-----There are no other adjustments on the 35 HP models

    I doubt that any 2 cylinder 35 HP models used a shift rod height adjustment.-----Other than the lower shift rod must be fully screwed into the yoke.

    That thick special O-ring fits in that recess. ----Must be driven in all the way so it stays in there.

    A 79 model 35 HP may not be involved in the " setting the shift rod height " scheme of things.

    The idea here is that at compression the elliptic sheave moves the rope outwards from center.----Gives you a mechanical advantage.----Something used for 40 years or more on this style of recoil.

    This recoil assembly is " timed " to take advantage of the eliptical sheave !!-----Do not go changing the length of the roped by guessing.
