    The 225 HP is a V-6-----This motor is a V-4.-----Many part interchange.

    My wild guess is 1990 model.----Check this thing over very carefully !!-----Looks like it might have been in accident or hurricane damage.-----Remove high speed carburetor jet and post the number on it.

    Your local shop can assist you in minutes.-----These gearcases are not robust and shimming must be correct.-----Or use " mechanics blue " to check proper tooth contact.

    Check for spark.----Sounds like it is running on 1 cylinder.----Good spark must be able to jump a 3/8" gap.

    I use West System epoxy.---More $$ but does not have that awful smell.

    ----The charging system on a 3 cylinder has very little capacity.----There is no surplus to run anything in the house.
