    If nothing comes out when in the water and running then it should be good. But it sure doesn't look right Your gauges are at zero before the motor starts, right?

    Merc carb Other then having a short on the Tan/Blue wire coming from the alarm to turn alarm ON, motor has 4 possible points to energize. Oil switch Water Temp switch thru TBV Gear lube switch TBV module I would trace wire for a chafed spot

    Modern hulls still using Mahogany, haven't heard that but ok I guess I would use ply or coosa, thinking the resin wouldn't stay stuck to the mahogany, but I'm no expert. Maybe @Woodonglass has an answer

    Don't know the boat but manufactures can do what they want even if its wrong. If it had a V8 prior there would be signs that the motor mounts were moved
