    1969 25 Hp Johnny Rude/Kicker?

A 54" wide transom has enough room for a primary motor and a small trolling motor. Max weight capacity will soon come into play

    1969 25 Hp Johnny Rude/Kicker?

however with the small boat the OP has, a 55# thrust trolling motor would push the boat in 30mph winds unless he raises a sail.

DP-D1 Vertical Shaft upper nylok nut

that is a bearing nut. and yes, the manual improperly calls it a nyloc there is a very specific sequence in the manual. Not a torque for the top of the vertical shaft. however torque is 118 lb-ft for the pinion nut and you set a dimension and a pre-load with the bearing nut.

    Bilge pump

then the switch on the dash should be feeding the brown wire. the black wire should go to the gound buss. the two wires from the float switch should go to the brown wire and the battery somewhere. the float switch is simply connecting the brown wire to the battery. unless the float switch is bad.

    1969 25 Hp Johnny Rude/Kicker?

first, welcome aboard. your jon boat should have oars. that or an electric trolling motor will be your backup. your 55 year old outboard is probably more reliable with minimal maintenance than most of todays outboards.

    New prop

Pontoons don't follow the same rules as other boats. You have a brick you are trying to push thru the water (displacement hull). Yes, adding cup will simply decrease RPM and add load without increasing speed. To go faster, you need a whole lot more power, a 3rd toon log and lifting strakes...

I would spring for Moog, SKF, or Timken. The difference in cost is a case of beer

How to best start a boat with a push button

4 tries, or 3-4 cranks. most EFI motors require 2 complete revolutions before the ECM knows where the motor is and can start firing ignition and injectors.

    Leaking toons

depends if you can get them surplus or need to buy direct. surplus I have seen them for $1k a set. however even great lakes skipper lists a set of 26' toon logs for $3800 a pair, plus the freight For a new set from most factories, you are looking at $6k+ for new logs. you can buy a used...

Inherited a custom made wooden replica 1950's runabout WITHOUT an engine

you will have to do some research. if you are in Florida, the Mt Dora boat show is coming up. that would be a good place to start with gathering prices of vintage boats. you could probably ask $30k and get a few offers in the $15-25 range. however since you do not know much about the boat...

Here is what I do. I reach out to friends, family, or fellow forum members, either here, or one of the many other truck/hot rod/etc forums I am on that live near where the items is being sold. I then have someone I trust put their hands and eyeballs on the item. then if it passes the smell...
