    you may not loose top end by dropping pitch or loosing a blade. the motor may be able to hit 4800 RPM which is better than lugging at 4400 RPM

    should be $50-100 for a used intake manifold and the cost of a carb and a gasket set. heck if you want all new components and paid someone to do the work you wouldnt be over $1000 $2000 is about 4 to 5x of actual cost.

    I would run a 600 CFM 4150 myself. Volvo put 715 CFM holleys on 350's While some argue its overkill, cant complain about the mid-range throttle response.
