    Sorry missed you put part number in first post Looking up Sierra and mallory and unable to find specs I am unable to verify that the part number is a gauge sender or a temp switch. Put it in a pan of water and get the water up to a boil to see if it goes to zero ohms

    Which GL? Have you checked the fuse? Will have a diode in line feeding relay. One coming from alternator and one coming from start circuit

    That is where the dash pot is. A rod and spring design which is the choke for the carb. As the intake warmed up the spring would lift the rod and open the choke. Probably was replaced by an electric choke

    No expert but with it blowing the fuse, my guess is the ECM is the issue or coil, Could put a 20 amp fuse in and see if it will run. If it does then don't leave the fuse in. Something has just started drawing to much current. Use a ohm meter and check the coils to see if they are close to...
