    Closed cool means it uses antifreeze and a heat exchanger. Open cool is no heat exchanger and its raw water cooled

    One side will run a bit hotter then the other which is correct. So far as the block off gasket, unless the motor is closed cool it should not use it

    Depends on what your comfortable with. Even with a new carb I would check what the plugs look like after a few runs. Slow quickly and pull some plugs. Don't want to idle much because that can change the reading Either that or have to install exhaust bungs and use a air fuel ratio meter

    Agree sort of with mechanical will last, but no so sure about the amount of time. Many like to change to electric so the fuel bowl fills up faster if its dry. They still use mechanical pumps on high performance motors built today The easy fix without a relay
