    Advancing means it increases more BTDC No your 28 degrees is not off, its within parameters Total should be 27* +/- (plus or minus) 2* Meaning 25 to 29 degrees, and your at 28

    Being a SX it doesn't have the piece I was thinking about. Yours has a tube (item 62) and its not mounted on the top like the older ones I was thinking about. It does use a plastic fitting (item 18) which is known for cracking. The clear hose would show it this is the issue with bubbles...

    Would say, if thermostat housing reads close to 160, then you might be ok. If housing is also hot, then look at the circulating water pump on the front of the motor
