    Explain how you determined your carburetors are junk?------How did your motor run last season ?----Or were they full of water and all corroded ?----Damaged by a previous owner ?-----If motor does not run nicely what trouble shooting was done ?

    This is making no sense at all.-----Motor should pee right after ( 3 seconds ) of start up.---Pee steady all the time.----

    Load test the battery, even if new.----Usually a free service.-----What starter did you install ?-----Did you take the old one apart to determine it was actually bad ??-----An after market one ?-----Part # of the replacement ?

    There are numerous ways to solve this issue.----Make an adapter plate to mount the pump with 3 screws.----Mount the pump in a different location.-----Or mount say a 1966 100 HP style pump that has a sediment bowl and filter.----No need to fret over something as simple as this fuel pumping issue.

    Just replace the diaphragm on the original pump.-----Or simply install the new pump with 2 screws.-----It will work just fine.-----No need to overthink this simple stuff.---And the pump works with crankcase PRESSURE and not vacuum !------Sorry

    Some will argue.-----I would star with a load test on your battery.----Then I would take the starter apart for inspection testing.----No $$ spent here.

    Clean the shift piston bore.------Check the valves on the oil pump.

    Post the results of a compression test first.-----I would take the starter apart for inspection.-----This will establish the condition.-----My guess is that it is bad.----Easy to take starter apart if you are interested in learning a bit about them.

    From about 1958 to some 1984 motors , use the same bracket.----Should be easy to find.

    Johnson 50hp 1996 2cyl, 2stroke revved out of control.

    I say it all the time.-----These motors are very easy to diagnose.----If you decide to go to a simple premix pump ask for the correct process BEFORE rushing out to buy a pump.

    starter solenoid

    ??----The parts book for the electric start kit seems to show a safety switch.----If throttle is open too far it will not crank.----Look for it.----If it is there and does not work it may need to be cleaned.----Yes they are easy to take apart for cleaning !!
