Penta SX - new steering cable won’t go through the end of guide tube of power steering

If you have the old shaft, you can cut the end off to use as a guide. or find a socket the same size as the shaft, push in a bit to hold the lip on the seal open and guide the shaft in.

    Furuno Model 1712 radar

radar is invaluable in fog or you could run over other boaters just an FYI sea lice (kayakers) do not show up on radar. nothing will pucker upholstery faster than coming out of the fog 3 miles off shore at 90mph in a poker run than coming across a group of lost kayakers

Blowby through vent tube? Mercruiser 3.7

if you have 30 hours on it, the rings should have seated. however if you had any moisture in the bores, there would be corrosion which would lead to blow by. compression test and leak down test will tell you what is going on. for $4k, you could have bought a brand new 6.2 liter V8

the tube came about in 1988/1989 when Mercruiser put Big Blocks in front of the Alpha because the extra exhaust flow would blow out the bellows. the big blocks went away because the alpha drives would go "poof" and grenade and became a big warranty champagne while the Big Blocks in front of an...
