    There should be an inline fuse holder on the Red/Purple wire feeding the ignition key. This wire comes from the 50 amp breaker then thru the engine plug to the key. The purple wire feeds all the gauges and the more once the key is turned ON

    Found a manual to the 90 and 120 Sport Jet which shows Green coil 1 Green/White coil 2 Green/Red coil 3 Found a Merc outboard 3 cyl showing Green coil 1 Green/Red coil 2 Green/White coil 3 I would think believe the manual is correct over the drawing but don't know for sure

    Don't think yours has a regulator, but to verify if its a standard ALT it has 3 wires, one large red and 2 small yellow and Tan. if so the reg is internal and no need for the switch

    When your turn the key ON do you have 12V on the positive side of the coil? Disconnect the gray wire on negative side of the coil going to the tachometer if you have one
