    Yours is different from the above You might be able to remove the hose on top, but leaving it in place will not cause an issue with cooling of weatherization. Item 18 has 2 part numbers, one for Alpha and one for Bravo. No effect for yours, just noting if another looks at it later

    Your sig shows a 1984 and first post list a 5.7 and just for clarity if its a 84 model it should be a 898 which is a 350 also 5.7L. Being a 84 there should be no White/Green wire because you should have points and not a TB 4 or 5 ignition. Is this correct?

    Your shift interrupter switch is either not working, not adjusted correctly or wires are not connection properly. The interrupter is only used when the boat is in the water and is not needed when out of the water. Check to see if the switch and that it is set correctly
