'94 mercruiser 3.0 rough idle on cold start

You might be able to get it out with a left handed drill bit, and then maybe an easy-out, but I would suggest getting another carb. This one has some real issues, and it would be best to start fresh. From your vid at 51 seconds in it appears you have the Delco EST ignition, so your timing...

Mercury 350 magnum problems please help

Just to clarify what I believe we are working on. In the first few post we were told it is a 1997 350 mag 300 HP MPI. Being that setup it should be the motor listed in the first column and the pressure should be 43 psi. If someone installed a different regulator the psi will be held at 30...

    2000 Merc 5.0 V8 EFI No Start

Sure if you can see it, would be easier to go and pick up a spark gap gauge at the auto store. No, the ones for auto's will not work. You can make one with a resistor led and a paper clip. Find the DLC connector, install led as shown, then the paper clip. Turn the ignition ON and start...

Merc 4.3 l fuel injected stalling when warmed up. Intermittent problem. Sn 1a330717

If you can keep the motor running at higher rpm (above 1000 rpm) and when you idle down it dies, in most all cases this is the IAC. If you get a Noid light, but here is the IAC test

Started to get off trailer, now won't start

OK, I see your issue. This is why when the sensor is replaced they provide terminals with bullet connectors, yours currently does not have them. When a new sensor is replaced, the wires coming from the sensor in the distributer are removed. The ring terminals are put together with the short...

How to remove a gear housing drive shaft?

OK my bad, You can remove the retaining nut with a drill instead of using the special tool. The carrier bearing removal depends on if you have early or later style.

Started to get off trailer, now won't start

Have fuel, and probably no spark. Don't have your manual but you should have the TB-V ignition I'm thinking. The first thing is disconnect your tachometer (the gray wire). Tachs can short out and if that happens then no spark. If it won't start, run through this troubleshooting guide to...

    Motor won't idle

You can adjust in with a flat tip screw driver. Idle should be adjust to 650 to 700 rpm in neutral. Don't know which carb you have but guessing it is a 4 barrel of either the Rochester or Weber make. Look on the side of the carb below where the throttle cable is attached. You will find a...

Closed Cooling System on Port Engine Running Hot(ter)

I see that as a bad move. If you put muffs on the drive, maybe wrap thin plastic around the drive, it can slow it down. The hose enters just above the drive shaft boot, and I'm pretty sure your water line is above it. I just installed the Bravoitest fix on my Rinker, so here is the pic of...
