    from the ignition switch working backwards. ignition switch.......harness connector near the controls/dash...... harness connector at the motor (big round connector)......battery terminal on engine at starter...... battery dont forget the ground path

    and by shiny metal, we mean polished like your mother-in-laws fine silverware. use 150 grit sand paper, a wire brush on the end of a drill or similar to get the metal shiny once done and tight, seal the connections with marine electrical varnish

    GM spec is still 150. note, the 4.3 and 5.7 have the same bore and stroke.

    a good volt meter for a generic lead acid battery: 12.0 volts is fully discharged 12.7 volts is fully charged AGM is slightly different you should have two batteries for what you want to do, one cranking battery and one house battery separated by at least a battery switch or ACR

    trim tabs will not help when docking you will loose fine control when docking, however it would be manageable think of it this way, single props are like running summer tires on snow covered ice. duo props are like running studded snow tires

    a jack plate will allow you to raise the motor a bit. about 1" up for every 4" back as a rough rule of thumb I agree with above.....go fishing now
