    Where did it snap.------If the exhaust housing is bent then the shaft would flex and fail from fatigue.----Does the break look like it was sliced with a sharp knife or is it jagged ?

    The 1960 models were the first year to use a fuel pump.----The one of the 6 HP from 1965 to 1979 will work.----Plus many others motors that use the little square PRESSURE driven pump.

    There is a wee clip #310729 available that holds the cable onto part #83.-----Look for it in ---accessories.----That clip was available / used on many motors in the 1970's

    How critical of an issue!

    Looks like motor was tilted in freezing weather.----Have your local fab shop weld that up now.----Not later.------There is an o-ring at / near the front of the crack.

    Did you torque the flywheel nut and to what value ?----Your description is classic of a sheared key.----Some will argue , but I would check the key again.

    I normally just use some old head bolts from a 5-1/2 or 6 HP to pull them on small motors.

    There is lots of demand for service.----Just hard for a start-up to get in on the action.----Once spoke to a shop owner who said.------Folks line up to pay $20 / gallon for coffee.----Yet they grumble at $80 / hr for skilled service / repair work.----Many shops charge more to cover overhead.
