Looks like i'm getting into bravo outdrive repair

Re: Looks like i'm getting into bravo outdrive repair Well here is some of the stuff I have bought and used to do the B3 clean up. The B3 outer prop shaft seal was the new style and was a real bear to get out. My large slide hammer could not budge it. Had to use a center punch and split it...

    Bilge pump drain back

Re: Bilge pump drain back I am making things a bit messier. A duck bill is most often used on pluming areas like the pump toilet flushing area, and they require a bit more pressure to operate. It opens when water is pushed through it and closes off. The swing valve or flapper valves work...

Have a guy which needs to replace the exhaust on a 496 MAG. Looking up the serial number OW618146 in shows two possibilities. The standard number is 865331A01, or the two inch rise is 865332A01. Does anyone know how to tell which one is installed, maybe the total height of one of them?

    Tilt trim issue

Re: Tilt trim issue The handle wires are laid out in the pick below. The pic below is for a newer model so you will not have the Yellow wires. Someone has done some rewiring for you to have Red and Purple wires. With the up not working it means either your solenoid is bad or an electrical...

Can a V8 fuel pump be installed on 4 and 6 cylinder engine

There has been many post here on iboats in regard to fuel pumps and their replacements. The older style 4 and 6 cylinder pumps have built in fuel filters, and many of us have recommend adding the fuel water separator. Fuel pumps are pricey and the ones with filters are many times more. If the...

    5.7 mercruiser add 2nd battery/switch

Re: 5.7 mercruiser add 2nd battery/switch You can also add an isolator and it will keep both charged but they are not connected by any other means. An onboard charger can be connected directly to each battery for charging at home/dock.

Trim and trailer foot stopped working

Re: Trim and trailer foot stopped working There are 3 wires at the trim pump connector, red, green/wht and blue/wht. Power comes from the trim pump through the red wire to the trim switches. When the up switch is pressed power travels thru the blue/wht wire, back thru the limit switch then...

Ignition coil overheating - Mercruiser 140

Don't know if there are any legal beagles here, but this I don't see how this could happen. No real names will be used but places are real. Friend (let's say Sam) is married in FL and had some kids. One of the kids is born with autism. Several years later there is a divorce and mom and kids...
