    Those trim / tilt relays ( $25 ) are available all day long.-----I say you have a wiring problem and there is nothing wrong with the new or old relays.

    Motor will have to come apart.----That damage will not just " buff out " I say.----They all run great according to most sellers.

    Model # of your motor ?-----If it has a primer valve, then your fuel pump is providing fuel pressure to it.----So your fuel pump is indeed working.----Sounds like carburetors need cleaning.

    Those add ons / accessories are not on the 88 SPL..-----The rest is all the same as the 90 HP models.

    1971 Chrysler 20 HP Coil Wiring

    Only one wire should go to the breaker points.----These coils / magnetos were the same year after year, not just a 1971 model----!! Your local shop might have a MERC-O-TRONIC magneto analyzer to test all your parts.----Nothing to it mate.

    1998 90HP Evinrude Problems!

    Use a dial indicator to line up the spindle / boring head to be true to the bore.-----The machine I saw in operation uses a probe where you touch the bore in 3 random places and touch a button and BOOM the machine knows the center.----Takes but seconds instead of 10 minutes.
