    Stop.----Is the choke solenoid working and properly adjusted ?------The motor needs to spin fast with the starter in order for ignition system to work.-------So load test the battery.-----Take starter apart for inspection and ohm check on armature.----Inspect battery cables.

    If you are testing in a bucket the water needs to be 6 or 8" above the impeller.-----I think these pumps are very simple .---Almost impossible to put them together so they do not work !!

    2 bolts on bottom of lower unit ----1 from top of exhaust housing to the lower unit.---Perhaps the 1 screw for the anode to get a socket on the lower 2 bolts.--Lower unit then slides off.-------Yes just 3 bolts !!

    FR-----Well said, the motor was really well built 52 years ago / simple / reliable / easy to repair / run very nicely.-------Not sleek and computer designed like some plastic motors today.

    Clean the middle carburetor.----Do not run this motor any more.----A plugged carburetor means no fuel going to the #2 cylinder and no OIL either !

    That oil injector responds to signals / sensors on the motor.----Injects oil as per motor RPM / first start up / throttle position etc, etc.

    The " thing " that distributes the oil has wires going to it ?-----The ECU would know if that pump was running or not I say.

    Removed all the rotten plywood ( beaver puke ) on this ~ 1980 model , 25" transom rated for 150 HP by US coast guard..-----Looking to use composite hockey sticks to rebuild the transom.----Anybody have experience using them ?----Good or bad idea ??
