    Stop throwing parts at it Your issue is most likely a bad connection. Start at the battery and clean every connection to the motor and then up to the helm. Clean and shiny enough your mother in law would eat off them. Then when they are all tight, seal with marine electical varnish

    go thru the carb service the points. make sure to use a dwell meter. without a dwell meter, you are only doing a half-arsed job. ticking could be bad ignition component (spark snapping) or detonation (your motor eating itself) or lean rattling (your motor eating itself)

    that is an annual maintenance requirement pull the drive, inspect the gimbal bearing, inspect the u-joints and check alignment. every 100 hours or annually, which ever occurs first.
