    stop service your points, or pay someone to service your points pull your carb apart and service your carb, or pay someone to service your carb. turning the screws does nothing if the needle and seat are stuck open. also, if the clear tygon tube has fuel in it, you need a new fuel pump.

    you have a boat that is over 15 years old. its part of boat ownership. do some test drills down below. compared to most transoms, that is in good shape. I have repaired transoms with mushrooms growing out of them in the past.

    pull the elbow use a pliers to pull the thermostat scrape the gasket material use a new thermostat (it will hold itself just fine) install gasket and elbow

    dieseling will kill your motor. that last gasp as the motor stops is it running backwards sucking in water from the exhaust. look at your fuel quality and your ignition timing. if you have points, service them.
