You might only get another 30 years out of a rebuild. The cost to rebuild a 470 motor is more than buying a much newer and reliable 4.3
On second thought this might be a better idea i wanna know how can i buy a 4.3 engine and how much would it cost for the engine and shipping i live in the phillipines so that might be a problem thanksThe cost to rebuild a 470 motor is more than buying a much newer and reliable 4.3
NoHey guys just talked with a friend and he says the engine might not be stuck instead it might be the water pump wich is connected to the engine through gears is that possible, thanks
So how can i check i just wanna be sure it has the correct amount of oil and it hasnt been overheated what should i try then ???
Whay should i also do if its the outdrive wich is sezed srry if these are basic question this my first time with enginesCouple of things.... first, if you haven't already, pull the outdrive off, it may be seized not the engine.
Don't order any internal engine parts if your going to rebuild it yet. You have to have it looked at first by a machine shop before you order things like main and rod bearings and piston rings. You have to have machine work done if necessary, first, in case over sized bearings/rings are needed. If machine work is needed, the shop will tell you what to order. Pull the plugs out next and see if it turns, then I'd pull the head off and see what it looks like in there before ordering anything.
