    most frames leak from the bedding on the hull. when you pulled the hatch off, how did you re-bed it to the hull? no, there is no spline between the glass and frame, only the adhesive/sealant that you mention. normally that is sikaflex or 3M window bedding urethane and not silicone. however...

    clean all the battery cable connections from the battery to the slave relay to the starter. also pull the starter and clean the mating surface of the block and starter (ground path) been more than one johnyrude that wouldnt turn over from corrosion on the starter mating surface.

    the oil pressure sensor is on the block up-high I take it you were not watching the gauges. the oil pressure gauge would have went low about 20 seconds before knocking knocking is bad. most likely your motor may be coming back out.

    starter bolts are custom alloy, custom temper and custom knurled for a reason. if you want more room, swap out your direct drive 35# starter for a newer PMGR 13# starter. not only will you have more room, easier to get to, it will spin your motor faster.

    if the compressor is bad, just change the compressor and the h-valve and be done with it. go full R134. the condensor and evaporator dont know or care. the lines need to be properly crimped either way. since your compressor needs replacing. that is where the cost is to convert to do it right.
