    I'm finding at manualslib that number one is top right, this is facing motor looking Aft and seeing front of motor, so port side of boat on top Edit, this is assuming the heads face toward the bow. Never looked under the cowl of a Suz so don't know which way the motor faces...

    As Scott said coil is fine Timing is done as follows the difference will be DO NOT use timing listed (2*), you will need to use most likely 8* BTDC. You also do not have a shift interrupter

    Could use your serial number but, your motor has a temp sender for the gauge, and a ECT (engine coolant temp) switch which tells the ECM it's hot. The ECT is item 7 in link https://www.mercruiserparts.com/bam/subassemblydetail/43086238/28188353

    It should be solid and hard, being able to move it than the coupler is toast and needs replaced, crank is fine like Scott said

    I wouldn't pay much attention to what's happening on the outer piece, need to check the inner Use a 1 inch bar or other and get a dial indicator reading on runout

    Hind sight, look up slim Jim to unlock the door Look to remove back seat to get into trunk. Might be able to reach in and pull inside latch in trunk
