For those of us who tow our boat, do you inspect it ?

Yeah, I should. In the midst of a debacle. My leaf springs COMPLETELY fell apart. While in the midst of the repair, noticed that the hub had some play. Inner bearing gone. Not sure how I made it back last season. I only put 10 miles/year max on it at 30 mph, so I'm lax with it. Lesson learned...

1998 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Backfiring Under Load & Loss of Power

Might want to blow some air in the cylinders to see where your leak is occurring, although the head is coming off regardless. Did you pull the valve covers to make sure all the valves are functioning in those cylinders?

1998 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Backfiring Under Load & Loss of Power

I really want to see compression numbers. Rough idle in a 5.7 makes me think you're misfiring or dropping cylinders. At idle I'd also putting a timing light on each plug lead to make sure they're all firing consistently

    Mercruiser 3.0 1988

They're gone unfortunately. For years brunswick didn't care until they realized that there was still money to be made by selling them.

Shift cable replacement Alpha I Gen II 5.0L - cable binding

Wonder if the housing got kinked when threading it in. The cable core should pass easily.

I used up all my curse words yesterday

Same, Mazda 6 for the coil packs. And of course one of them was bad out of the box.

350 Magnum Tournament Ski spark plugs

I'd be concerned that that's piston on your plug and you melted it. Have you checked compression?

    Spring replacement?

Yup. Had already found that place, nothing listed. Went with TowUniverse.com. Found the spring on ebay, then went to seller's site and ordered it. Said it should be here in 2 days, we'll see. Hopefully no more setbacks.

    Spring replacement?

Yup, these are the same people. I came across this spring already, going to call when they open on tuesday. Stupid long weekend. Also found the spring that I referenced is Lippert/Curt Mfg. They do have a local dealer network which would be ideal (if anybody stocks them, which seems unlikely at...

    Spring replacement?

Interesting. No specs on any of the springs listed though. I'm tempted to pull the trigger on these: https://www.southwestwheel.com/p-16434-lippert-replacement-double-eye-trailer-leaf-spring-24-2000-lb-weight-capacity-125799.aspx This is the closest that I've seen, I don't see why they wouldn't...

    Spring replacement?

I want to order online so that I can have it by next weekend, not able to find much though.

    Spring replacement?

Noticed that the springs on my trailer completely disintegrated, so I guess it's time to replace them. I don't know any of the specs for the trailer. The axle is 2" square, and it's 24" eye to eye with 9/16" bolts. Looked like there were 6 leafs, which seems like a lot. The boat is 19', ~2k...

    CRACK IN KEEL

Having spent another day today doing this exact thing with the same consequences, I can second that this absolutely sucks. If my boat flips, it isn't on purpose.

I've had a very persistent wren trying to build a nest on my platform (like I mentioned earlier that they like to do). I keep clearing it off before she finishes...
