    OK, I finally got around to getting my Bellows off. The bearing seems smooth and quiet so I think I’m gonna just leave that alone. Do you guys have a suggestion on where to get a Bellows came from?

    Hmmmm ok…I just felt it with my finger tips, it does spin smoothly & quiet. I just thought it was a part that should be replaced if you had the drive & engine out..

    Ok….I just got done fixing my motor mounts/stringers on my 1990 sea ray sundancer…now my thought is should I remove my out drive & change out my gimbal bearing & bellows? I haven’t changed them since I’ve owned the boat & it’s been out of the water for 4 or so years…how hard of a job is it?

    What was holding your inner trim ring on your outer trim ring? Mine has a what looks like track with a rubber gasket on it I’m not sure if there’s anything underneath that though

    On a marine application where you’re gonna have a lot of contact with water I would never leave any metal surface unpainted. You know what water does to metal right

    I just got done rebuilding my Quadra jet carburetor for my 1990 sea ray Sundancer with the 454 in her. Anybody got any good suggestions on what type of paint to use to come close to the original color of may be a quadrajet or a Holley?

    Starter question.

    It seems I remember reading somewhere that when the engine actually starts it somehow disengages the starter from the flywheel…I guess it spins faster so that way it disengages?

    Seems like I remember reading somewhere that until the engine starts, that gear on the starter will stay engaged with the fly wheel. Is this true?

    Ok, let me straighten something out here. I’m doing this test with my motor out of the boat before I put it in the boat, engine is Out of the boat, on my engine cradle. I’m just not sure if once the motor starts that that will make the starter gear retract or not. Once again, the motor is out...

    Yeah I tried one of them, I even tried putting washers between it with it to move it farther away, when I do that the starter barely seems to engage the fly wheel but that gear and the starter won’t go back into the starter

    I will be attempting to rebuild my Quadra jet carburetor very soon. I have my kit and have the carburetor tore apart but is there a certain type of solution that I need to soak the parts in to clean them?
