I am planning to visit my daughter in Fenelon Falls this June, and I'm wondering.
How long will it take from Lake Ontario, traveling in a 36' at about 10 knots max.
That would be with a couple of stops for fuel/food, depending on how long we're on board.
I saw on the Parks Canada web site...
Last October during Canada's Thanksgiving weekend, I had a bunch of my family join us for the weekend. Since I had just bought a new to me 36' Carver, my eldest daughter suggested we go for a boat ride on Sunday morning....great idea.
So on Sunday morning after breakfast my wife prepares the...
I bought a, new to me, 3607 Carver aft cabin. It was used as a cottage for the previous 5+ years and there are no fenders as they were on the dock.
So, I've purchased 6 new fenders 8" X 20" and I'm trying to be prepared for the spring. Does anybody know what length I should make the fender lines?
One of the Carvers in our marina has a spiral staircase from the transom to the aft deck. Apparently Carver only made these for a couple of years, as an option.
Anyone know where I might find one.
It's a 3607 Carver aft Cabin
There are thousands of B & B's around, but they are all bed and breakfast........
Has anybody ever heard of a boat & breakfast?
I was driving by a couple of B & B's today and I thought....why not Boat & Breakfast?
Any thoughts?
Has anybody heard of or used this product.
A friend was at the Toronto boat show last year and the people selling this said it will remove all the oxidation and crap from your hull quite easily and......you don't need to wax as it will hold a shine all season.
I've just bought a boat that has...
I have a 36' Carver and had an incident..(LOL) at the end of the season and have done some real serious damage to the 2 bronze props and the mechanic is not sure they are repairable. I did a search and WOW they cost about $1500+.
Can I purchase/use anything other i.e. s/s or aluminum?
I...
My darling wife gave me, for my birthday.... an Ecotemp hot water shower for our boat. It appears that it is attached to the swim platform and uses a 20# propane tank.
Does any body have or know about these.
I brought my boat up from Brewerton Ny to Oswego this past Sept and me and my wife were wondering.....is it possible to get from Oswego to Lake Placid via the canal system.
Thanks in advance
I am looking at a boat, but during the survey it was discovered to have blisteres in the bottom paint....about 6-8. They are not too big, about 3-4" in diameter.
How much $$ how this take to repair?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.....sorry I don't have pictures
I have just purchased a 36 Carver in Brewerton and I plan to bring her here to the 1000 Island next week. I've never been on the Erie Canal and would appreciate any tips you might have about traversing the locks or the navigation markers.
I presume that from Brewerton to Oswego would be going...
I've searched the net and found 3 different types. A Carver, a Chriscraft and a Burnscraft.
Here are the links.
The Carver: file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/bruce/Desktop/1989-Carver-36-Aft-Cabin-100431724.htm

I've been looking around various boats for sale web sites and I came upon this one in Florida.

I can't believe the price for a 1993 with 38 hours on twin Volvos. Boats of this size are listed anywhere from $45K up to $65K.
I'm sure it's a...
I have a 1990 Carver with twin 4.3l Mercruisers and I put a Faria fuel manager on one of the engines, because one uses twice as the other as I've mentioned in another thread.
I have only been monitoring it a couple of times, and it shows me to be using 20ish GPH. I always run at about 2500 RPM...
The CRTC here in Canada has determined that after September 1 2011, all tv & radio stations must stop broadcasting in analog and only in digital. I have an antenna on my boat that is only god for analog so I must change.
I have a Bell ExpressVu dish and receiver but have no idea how to set it...
I have a 1990 Carver Santego 27 with twin 4.3L Mercruisers and ever since I bought it 3 years ago the port engine uses much more gas than the starboard. I've had a valve job on both sides of the port engine, swapped carbs, new plugs and a basic tune up, but it still uses more gas. As an example...
Ever since I bought the boat 3 years ago, the port engine has been using way more gas than the port. I've swapped carb's and it's still the same, altough a bit less. I've had the valves done on 2 cylinders and still the same.
I just came back from a 2 wek trip and the port engine used 115...
Does anybody have an answer for my concern. As I boat around through the 1000 island and the Rideau Canal system, my icon is always off. If I pass a maker buoy, it will show me way off the other side of it. It even shows me to be on land when I'm in a narrow channel.
And today, coming back from...
We have just acquired an ice maker for our boat. It is 120 volt so unless we are plugging into shore power it will be plugged into the inverter.
Here's my question: Can I leave it plugged in while I am underway? We are planning a 2 week holiday and getting shore power will be a rarity. And my...
