    Jacksonville, FL

Re: Jacksonville, FL Lake George/Silver Glen Springs is doable, but it would be easier to trailer unless you plan on spending the night. You are going to take 4-6 hours to get there, depending on speed. There are a few small hotels and camp sites on the river north og Lake George and in Astor...

mooring cover at a slip and tie down

Re: mooring cover at a slip and tie down Mooring covers are meant to be used on a trailer, not in a slip. You can't tie off to a cleat, because they extend midway down the hull.

What grade of bolts to hold my sacrificial anodes on?

Re: What grade of bolts to hold my sacrificial anodes on? The flat (pancake) zinc and round (egg or shaft) zinc come with bolts. The finned zinc, like you see on Mercruisers/Mercurys don't come with bolts, but you can get the bolt for it where ever you buiy the zinc.

    Hour meters

Re: Hour meters I assumed Beefer's original post was regarding a separate, standard guage "look" hour meter. 99% of these get their 12v+ power from the ignition 'on' circuit, the ignition 'run' circuit, or even from the engines + coil source.

how to wire new carling contura rocker switches

Re: how to wire new carling contura rocker switches Is the origninal 3-terminal switch is a three way switch (on-off-on)? This means that the center position is off, and you can rock the switch to the top and bottom? If so, the wiring is simple. The center terimal is for the 12v+ input. The...

    Twin Engine Sync Gauge

Re: Twin Engine Sync Gauge Thank you Silvertip, but I have seen that before. That gauge listing indicates it's a 4" gauge. I still need the 2" to replace the current one I have. If I had the space, I would cut the hole as I can 3"-4" gauges all day, but it falls in between the tachs. It's the...

    A little Patriotism.....

Re: A little Patriotism..... This is a picture I took by our house. I was driving with my 10 year old and I had to slam on the brakes to show him something he would probably never see again in his life. We parked and walked up (very slowly) to within 10 feet of this: This bad boy stood about...

    Fire extinguishes and flares.

Re: Fire extinguishes and flares. When you first purchase a fire extinguisher, they are supposed to be inspected and tagged by a certified extinguisher professional. They are valid for 1 year, then reinspected. Technically, they aren't supposed to be used until inspected, but a lot of people...

Re: Fume Detector I don't have a lower helm, but after posting, I thought about mounting it in a central location in the salon. I can hear the CO detectors going off, so I assume i should be able to hear the gas alarm go off. There are a few different models, a couple of which look a lot...

    Foam rubber questions

Re: Foam rubber questions Foam prices are tied to the petroleoum industry and right now the prices of foam are skyrocketing. When I have to buy sheet foam for seat cushions, I pay (for a 52"x86"x3") over $100, and that's wholesale! To get foam into little chunks, it has to go through a chipper...
