    Breaker Vs. Fuse

Re: Breaker Vs. Fuse What he said... I have done both in the past. Resettable breakers on ignition/starter circuits, master radio (VHF, GPS) circuits, and main lighting circuits. If something goes wrong with these on the water, you can fix the problem and reset to get home without worrying...

New Job, 501 Constellation, Good and Bad.

Re: New Job, 501 Constellation, Good and Bad. These are called "Lift-the-Dot" fasteners. I have never seen any with a screw thread longer than 5/8", but I will hunt for them for you. Another option would be to replace the LTD fasteners with snaps. I can send you the snap barrels (male portion)...

anyone add a bow filler cushion?

Re: anyone add a bow filler cushion? When we add filler cushions to bowriders or dual console models, generally there are seat supports added to each side of the formed in seating. This is nothing more than strips of starboard or similar material bolted/countersunk to the fiberglass seat...

Reccomendations on drill bit for wakeboard tower?

Re: Reccomendations on drill bit for wakeboard tower? A sharp bit is all you need to cut through. Should be done in 2-3 step sizes, depending on the final size hole you need. I wouldn't use a brad tipped bit as they are designed for wood. They initially center on the little point and then...

Can the Mods add a new section?

I was wondering what the possibilities are of adding a "Generators" section under the General Boating listing? I know there are hundreds of other boaters on these forums using on-board generators that would benefit from a section detailing the maintenance, repairs, parts, etc of marine...

My turn to tell on myself

 Attached you will see a pic of the cockpit sole of a boat. This is not my boat, but mine is identical, I just didn't have this pic! In this pic, you will see a floor hatch surrounded by a red circle. When this hatch is removed, it leaves a gaping hole in the sole which drops...

Need a very simple wiring diagram for navagation lights.

Re: Need a very simple wiring diagram for navagation lights. In the event you decide to go with the proper 3 position switch (NAV-OFF-ANC), here is the diagram you should use. I recommend going with a marine rated switch instead of a 3 position push/pull. The proper switch is only $6.00 or so.

    Anchor roller for Claw anchor

Re: Anchor roller for Claw anchor Depending on the design of the bow roller and the way it's mounted on the pulpit, the claw anchor can either jam up against the bail or it gets pulled high enough to jam up on the claw (to the bottom of the pulpit). Mine works the latter way. Here are pics of...

    What and Why?

Re: What and Why? For brevity, I'll just touch on the last few: We had scored a great deal on a 1996 bayliner Trophy W/A cuddy with a Mercury 150 O/B. I thought it was going to be perfect for the family. It had pplenty of interion cockpit room, tons of power (51 MPH), and a cuddy for getting...
