    4.3GL impeller change questions

    I'm replacing the impeller on my 1998 4.3L GL motor. The kit has two black rubber "plugs" in it (shown in the middle of the gaskets). Where do they go?     How to remove the manifold from a Penta 3.0 Liter

    I have it loose, but it hits the exhaust pipe when trying to remove it. Is there a way to remove it with the motor still in the boat? The picture shows the area I am talking about. If I can remove the stud, it would come off. Is that the correct method? TIA, -Keith
