I spent 5 hours on the lake today. This tachometer only shows 2700rpms at wot like the other one. All most 3000 at one point. I confirmed I had it set for 2 cycle 3 cylinder 5 wraps around the first spark plug wire still neat and tight.Motor was running good. According to the app on my iPhone I...
Danced all around 800. I’d rev it a little and it would come down to around 780 or so then back to 800. I’m going to the lake tomorrow. I’ve lowered the trim by one notch which with the boat sitting level has it just a little low of 90 degrees. About the same as the upper notch putting the motor...
It’s got several settings including 2 stroke 3 cylinder . I just have to figure out the instructions. I messed with it for a few minutes earlier and couldn’t set anything. I’m going to study the instructions tonight instead of trying to rush through them.
Don’t know how I doubled up the messages but my new tachometer came in this evening. Got a bilge pump on the way which I should have already installed. Thinking I may make it out Monday if not sooner. Watching the weather.
All mine ask for is how many times it fires per revolution. I think I paid around $10 bucks for the thing.
its settings are for once per revolution, twice per revolution, and once every other revolution. Information about it is on Amazon.
Thanks for the knowledge. Always appreciated. It’s not running bad but I was concerned if this isn’t set correctly could it cause damage. I worry about everything I touch on this engine. I’m surprised Searider is still talking to me with all my worries. Lol
Here’s a picture of that box. I found my missing rpms today. When I last messed with the linkage making sure all three carburetors where in sync. I didn’t check the throttle I guess. Today I looked at the carburetors and opened the throttle to wot and they were only opening maybe 3/4 of the way...
I would have tried lowering it yesterday but I was short on time. From looking at it at the dock it only needs to go down a notch maybe two. The bow rises just a little at take off and keeps the boat trimmed about half way out the way it is. It did better the first time I took it out though...
I was speaking about the intake when I said silencer. Made it to the lake but running late. Forgot my life jacket and had to rent one from the office. To return it In time gave me about an hour on the water. Engine didn’t cough or cut out any. Idle as low as 600 rpms and 400 in gear. Wot boat...
Just test ran it before I head out. Kind of hard starting and it’s developed a cough at about 1500 rpms bring it back down to idle speed and no cough. Guess I’ll find out at the lake. First time I ran with the silencer on. Could that have any effect? Oh I put the new muffs in my vise and...
Just got in from working on the trailer. It should be easier to launch now I hope anyway. Still planning on the trip tomorrow so I’ll let you know how it goes.
Owner has moved and I can’t get in touch. He said he was fresh water only and the person he brought it from had a jet drive on it for the river here and were to far away from the coast for brackish water. It looks like scale build up like in a coffee pot. The outside of the engine has a few...
I didn’t get to work on the trailer today but I went and got the parts. Picked up another set of muffs that are a little bigger than the others. The rectangular ones I have just barely cover the intakes. These are a little bigger and I’ve got some modifications in mind. Thinking of pulling the...
It’s always ran fine in the tank. Thermostat opens and closes. Temperature around 140. Replaced water pump as soon as I got the boat so it doesn’t have much time on it. Unless it got damage from the over heating. There’s grooves around the pick ups that are making it hard to get a good seal...
