    Thank you, that is exactly what I wanted to know!! A leak down test consists of pressuring the cylinders with air correct? How much psi is too much or not enough?

    So I have a leak on my 88 spl on the crank case. I will have to disassemble and reseal it. Would it be beneficial to hone and put new rings on the pistons or no? If doing so would I need new pistons? Just a curious thought

    Timer base ohms off?

    So checking the timer base on my 1990 88 spl. But has tilt and trim. When i check the white and blue wires i get 4.240 ohms..?? Then the rest are with 44.0 ohms. Which is in spec.     burnt oil leak

    Maybe base gasket for the power head I believe mine is leaking. Hard to tell with all the oil over the shaft and everything. So I cleaned it get a better look. I tighten up some of power head bolts to be sure. We’re a little loose. But take the cover off to get a better look
