    Thinking about buying a 1986 Evinrude 140 looper. She looks great barely a scratch on her. We checked the compression and got 130,125,125,125 Does it seem weird to get three the same and one higher?

    Michigan Wheel prop identification

    Found an old two blade brass Michigan Wheel prop. It has " AJ 704 cupped " stamped on it. It has 15 splines and looks like the old Quicksilver race props mercury used on their in-line sixes.

    1969 9-1/2 Johnson surges at idle...

    just picked up a 1969 9.5 Johnson at starts easy and runs good except when you slow it down to idle it speeds and slows down and speeds up and slows down on its own. does this sound like a float issue? or ignition?

    Real weight of a Merc V/6 ?

    looking at getting a V/6 merc and i'm wondering why there is such a big weight difference between a 1989 150hp and a 1988 175hp? The 1989 150hp is listed at 395lbs, the 1988 175hp is at 358lbs. Anyone know why the 150 is so much heavier?

    1983 140hp V4 Johnson compression test...

    This is the 99.6 c.u. model. what compression should it have? the one I found the guy says it runs great, pulling the kids tubing and all that but he said three cylinders have 110psi and one has 90psi. would a motor with these numbers even produce 140 horse power?
