You can actually buy outboards now that come with power t&t as standard, and they are available used too .
I think you would save yourself a bunch of stress , time and money buying another motor with power t&t ๐
๐ Ha ! I been thinkin about this spring and the whole not running backwards . Something 2/ with its timing set close to tdc will run backwards quite well if it starts on a backfire so I do see the point in having that spring .
I recall myself and some mates camping ๐บ๐บ๐บ๐บ๐บ๐บ๐บ๐บ over easter at the...
I find myself thinking that I must use my ph camera to compensate for a failing memory.....and then dont think of it again until Im thinking "gee I wish Id taken some pix of this fn thing ...htf does that go on ๐ก

Dude, 57 years ago OMC recommended their wonderful lube .....mostly because they wanted more of your money ,reality is that even back then there were alternatives that would work fine ( remember omc dont make grease ....they buy it off someone else and repackage it to show their brand ) . If...
I mostly delt with load sensing on F&P dishwashers and the only real issues we had was either pump inlet filters clogged with crap ....honestly some people treat their dishwashers like garbage disposal ....or peeps using detergents that caused foaming ,either of which messed with the load...
Those pumps are load sensing , the controller can sense the load on the motor and thusly knows if it is pumping water or not ,reliable enough but down side is the sensing pulsing of the motor. Any partial aeration of the pump can confuse them .
As for testing all you can really do is wait till...
I reckon that if the head gasket fits and you can bolt the head up ....then they are the same basic motor.
Stick a bit of modeling clay ( or similar ) on the piston , loosely assemble motor and turn it over a couple of times and then measure the clay thickness where the valve head had squashed...
I dunno if you Americans know but you guys are notorious for your extended oil change intervals ๐.....we joke about it , so Im thinkin that something like a limp mode that comes in to play after an oil change is missed is a very good thing .๐๐
Yeah ,I have had a few things over the years that have been in a state of malfunction for some time . Seems that I will put up with the problem for ages .......and then fix it when I go to sell it so someone else wont come to grief ๐๐
When home appliances still used a pressure switch and air bell to measure water level we had no issues ,but then they had to go all smartypants with various sensors and float switches, and then it was continually hittin the fan .
I think that an airbell and pressure switch it by far the most...
My bilge pump has on -auto-off switching so you can isolate the pump if the boat is not in the water.
I guess you could just disconnect it and hope that whatever turned it on in the 1st place doesn't sink your boat .
If your boat is moored maybe use a separate battery and solar panel /...
Im pretty sure those green coils are for the charging system and nowt to do with ignition . If by burnt you are refering to the brown discolouration on the top of some of those coils I say its just that ...discoloured due to age and possibly that green coating is thinner on the top . If that...
