    Electric Choke on '62 40hp

    Carb has an electric choke on it. Choke has the single hot wire going into it. I tried connecting that wire to a battery and nothing happened. Is the selonoid bad or is it a grounding issue. Motor is on the bench right now, not on the boat with any of the rest of the wires hooked up.
