    I agree with the posters here, you would be best to walk away. The boat has not been cared for and him is telling you he just had it tuned up is likely a lie as the tires are flat and no gas cap.... what kind of tune up did he get? Hmmm I smell something funny, lol

    On my 9.5 Evinrude there is a lock to prevent the motor from coming out of the water. As mentioned above you can't tilt or move the motor up and down in gear, it has to be in neutral. Maybe apples and oranges as mine is Johnson and you have a Merc.

    I know I have said this in the past, but I don't understand why it is so difficult to get the title to a boat in the US. In Canada you can get the title to a boat as long as it has not been registered as stolen. I'm not sure but I believe a vehicle, car is the same.

    I did not know Chris Craft built Grew. I know Grew was a Canadian company. When I was a kids the people across the lake had a Grew and it was fast and handled like a sports car... loved that boat.
