    lower unit oil mixed with water, then froze...question

    I was going to take the boat out today and yesterday I tried to crank it to see if I needed to charge the batteries overnight. no go... eventually I tried to turn the prop! SOLID, no budge...motor is in neutral..... so I figure I must have got water in the lower unit and it mixed with the oil...

    70 hp on a 180 SS?

    do you guys think the 70 hp( 1989 version) on the 180 SS is enough power?( new 3/4" plywood floor)....before I ran into total electrical issue....it was acting like a dog with a 15 pitch prop and I put a 13 pitch prop on and went with my son and it was still a dog even though I got up to 5500...

    water temp issue on 1989 70 HP

    so I finally fixed my temp sender-gauge issue and I notice the temps are not rising at idle on muffs... I touch the head and it is air temp...no heat at all.....I rev the motor to 1500 for 5 minutes....temps don't go up...head is still cold. I pulled the muffs off and after about 30-40 seconds...

    tach not working on 1989 70 hp

    along with the tach, the temp guage-sender combo isn't operating right either. New sender...foreign $10 of fleabay...took a chance.. 33-240 ohms.....seems right...had an older red OMC temp guage. thought I wired them right...sender connection, ground connection, light connection ignition...

    whats the OHMS range for a OMC temp guage

    so I have a few temp gauges , a few tempos and a red OMC brand guage..... I didn't have a sender, so I bought one, and it reads 240-33ohms. Is that the proper range? On my last boat rebuild I apparently got the wrong sender as the readings the shop got for my motor were about 15 degrees lower...

    180SS, what attaches here?

    on that small L bracket coming off the bottom of the gunnwale its not even with the end of the splashwell!!! is further back by an inch at least...is that to mount a "pillar" to frame the sliding gate for hiding whats under the splashwell?...there is one on each side.
