    Chrysler 65hp clutch dog problem

I have no reverse gears at the shelf only in my spare gear case. Maybe I will pull my old spare LU apart this weekend because I have to check the drive shaft/pinion lash (shiming pinion) and the prop shaft end play is to large. If there is no other more importent thing to do. I did not checked...

    Chrysler 65hp clutch dog problem

Looks like there is no bronze bushing in the reverse gear. I did not notice that when I pull my LU apart. If you have miss it the prop shaft should have wiggle a lot.

    105 water pump

The F438065 or F438065-1 is for sure the one with 3/4 in tall vanes. F523065 should be the one with 1 in tall vanes. From the pic of your boat and engine it looks like the engine is a 1970 or 1969. Does the id tag says 1970? 1966-73 105Hp calls for the 1 in tall impeller and 1974-76 for the 3/4...

    89 125 won't go into forward gear

From my experience the clutch dogs and gears are sensitive to the adjustment and the edges can look pretty good with a small rounding BUT they do fail under load. I have answer to las thread about his issue and I have made the same journey as him with the LU of my 1977 65Hp Chrysler. Your 125Hp...

70hp Force outboard idles high and Bogs down with throttle

If the diaphragm is bad you do not need to change the whole fuel pump. Just change the diaphragm and the gasket. There are fuel pump kits out there with diaphragm and gasket, both OEM or aftermarket.

Major two stroke screw up Force 120

Like jerryjerry says, run it with the mixture you have. TCW-3 is the next generation of TCW-2 and the 2T oil for water cooled engines are made for lower engine temperature then air cooled two strokers such as motorcycles, moped, chain saws etc. Run with the mixture you have until it is time to...

‘83 Chrysler 7.5 replacement follower for carb throttle linkage

Have you tried with Franz Marine? Otherwise as it is made of plastic try to glue it with Loctite super glue. They have a couple of different typs such as 401, 424 and 480 etc for different applications.

    Force 125 ignition

As CDI box #1 feed the #1 and #2 cylinder and box #2 feed the #3 and #4 cylinder I suspect the blocking diod in CDI box #1. The wire you disconnected for the stator is feeding #1 CDI box. If you swap the CDI boxes the spark at all cylinders will occur if you disconnect the #3 brow/black/blue...

    105 water pump

Stephenca118 I refurbish impeller housings by using chemical metal and fill the pithing with it. Then I sand it to a smooth surface and it works really well. A new impeller in that housing will work but not pump with full flow and the impeller will not last as long as it should.

    1990 Force L-Drive 90hp -- Can't get it to idle -- losing my mind :D

Chrysler /Force engines has a spagetti seal at the split of the block, no paper gasket. When I do a rebuilt I either reuse the spagetti seal if it is in fairly good shape and add some Permatex Form a Gasket liquid gasket or I use a rubber string (looks like o-ring rubber) which is gasoline/oil...

    Chrysler 65hp clutch dog problem

Yes, you are right in your theory, good. You can try to resurface the clutch dog and gear and se what happens. Would be a good information for me too as I have one gear with rounded edges too.

    Chrysler 65hp clutch dog problem

Las, I do not know if I misunderstand you but the clutch shift rod will always be engage to the yoke even if you have a spring connected to the shift lever or not. This have no disadvantages for the function in my opinion. As I mentioned before all lager Chrysler/Force engines has this typ of...

    Chrysler 65hp clutch dog problem

Jerryjerry, the edges at my forward gear looked about the same and my thought was as you, it do not look so bad! As I had the LU disassembled I suggested to change the forward gear BUT I found that an adjustment of the lower shift shaft might have fixed it. I had a spare LU and put it on the...

    Chrysler 65hp clutch dog problem

Las, my experience is that all lager Chrysler and Force engine do not have any spring to hold the clutch dog/shift shaft in place when engage. It is just the shift cable ,shift shaft, gear pivo pin and yoke that hold it in gear. I suggest you to mount a small spring at the shift lever to give...

    Chrysler 65hp clutch dog problem

Las I have made the same journey with my 1977 65Hp in this summer. The gear started to jump out of gear at almost WOT and WOT and I did not countinued to run it. I disassembled it and found the edges at the forward gear rounded. The clutch dog edges was also a bit rounded so I flipped it 180...
