    16ft Glasspar w/65hp 2 stroke

That Roller, should have been under the Transom, not forward of it. Hooks can develop from that. Unless that boat has some kind of Sentimental Value, you will be money ahead to find another Boat, because it can become a Time and Money Pit of a Restoration

    16ft Glasspar w/65hp 2 stroke

Likely a rotted Transom. Fractured right at the area where the Glass had been penetrated by screws. That area was likely also stressed by not being supported properly on the Trailer, as shown in the pic. It is a 63 yr old boat, and to be honest, not having rotted Stringers/Transom would be a...

    Bow sitting high

All those batteries in the back are a good portion of the Weight Distribution Issue. Adding Ballast to level the boat is not the Answer, as it just adds weight, and slows you down and burns more fuel. Why 4 Batteries?

    1962 Evinrude 18hp Compatibility with 1969 Evinrude 18hp

I used to think that, but the 64 5 1/2, and later 6hp still had Bushings for Crankshaft Bearings. OMC did spec 50:1 for them though

    Getting new prop, couple questions

Solas, never owned one, and my experience is limited to being in my cousins Boat that had one. Seemed to perform okay, and looked very similar to an OEM prop. But Solas offers more than one Line... My dealer sold another 3rd Party Brand, and I was not impressed with the QC. I had opened up...

Temperature and Air Density. The Air in the Spring and Fall is cooler and more Dense, thereby the Engine can produce more power. So if proppeed in the Spring or Autumn, the Owner is wondering why his motor in the Hot Summer isn't getting the Rpms it did in the Spring. Mercury even mentions this...
