    Should be an MEFI ECM. you have to jump the pins to put it in diagnostic mode and read the flashes. you will need to get the VP MEFI manual (should be similar to other marine MEFI setups)

    yes, pull the drive off. then bend the corners of the tabs, remove the bolts. then grease up the threads of 3 of the bolts and put them in the threaded holes to jack the clamp plate off EVENLY. set the clamp ring and the very deformed donut off to the side. the resulting hole is about 2"...

    yes however once you pull the clamp and the donut, you can tip the motor up / sideways a bit. otherwise you need 4" of clear space forward of the pulleys to try to separate the motor from the PDS in the boat, and you will never get them back together.

    yes, you must remove the drive, then remove the clamp ring, and pull the PDS housing and motor out together
