    I'm going to remove my transom mount transducer. I don't have any 5200 can I use marine grade 2 part epoxy to fill in the holes? I was thinking of gobering up some toothpicks with the epoxy and packing the holes. Is that better than trying to fill the holes with just epoxy?

    VHF antenna

    Mount the antenna on a metal, not plastic, ratchet mount and use a bungee cord to secure it when laid down while towing if it starts to flap around.

    any tire preference for vans at the boat ramp?

    I carry a couple of 2' x 6' pieces of carpet in my truck. If needed I lay it, or them, in front on the rear tires for extra grip on slippery ramp pavement.

    dingbat is right on. When was your water pump replaced last? How long and why no thermostat?

    This subject has been discussed here several times. These companies are scams. When I was re powering my boat I contacted Yamaha regarding buying a "new" outboard from one of these offshore companies. I was told that they were not official Yamaha dealers and if they did sell "new" outboards...

    I don't know if my experience will help or not. I had a local canvas guy make a custom two piece cover for my boat almost 20 years ago. It's light brown sunbrella and other than dirty it's still doing it's job and looking good in the So. Cal sunshine.
